This Gown was designed as a sort of last minute ditch for Dragon Con
2005.   I had originally planned a full walking costume but for various
personal reasons was unable to get the project going in full steam.  The
corset  was to go under walking dress.  Thus to have something to wear I
created this ensemble to  instead and showcase the corset.

The Corset is a gold floral brocade silk, with chocolate brown, gold and
cream embroidery and bead work.   The top is a gold metallic sheer with
pale gold embroidery.  The skirt is a coffee colored silk dupioni trimmed
with silk flowers and ribbon, same as the shoulder corsage.

The inspiration was a great deal of evening wear for around 1880, as
pictured below.

This was my mock up image that I used
to cement my idea of what I wanted.

This is the garland of silk flowers that
are set at the gathering in the back of
the skirt.
This picture is of the top under shirt
with it's corsage of silk flowers.  The
design is of that from a traditional
chemise of the time.
